Carol:

Well, good morning, everyone. This is Carol, with more remarks podcast. It is Thanksgiving morning. Many, many blessings and happy thanksgiving to everyone. I just finished rowing 10,000 meters. I, first of all, before I get to that, let me tell you, it's been a pretty terrible week. And our, our schedules have been off a little bit for a couple of different reasons. Well, I know I put an episode out about jack not too long ago. And his kidney kidney disease just progressed to get worse. And we had to put him down on Monday the 23rd just a few days ago, and that was not a good day. We had him for 12 years. He was such a good dog. So loyal, fun, happy, content smart. just brought such joy to us. Oh, he was like our perpetual toddler. The vet said, we did the best thing for him though. It had gotten to the point y'all where he didn't even want to go out and walk we would try. We pick him up, take him out, put him down. And he would just stand there with this little back leg shaken. And then a couple of times, we found him laying down, we'd pick him up and he had wet himself and didn't even get up. So it was time even though even though you don't want to do it. The vet said, like I said, he said we we did the best thing for him. Even the vet cried when we did it. Because Carrie and I were bawling like babies. I mean, uncontrollable crying. When we were there. Doing we course carry held him. And we were both just it was awful. It was terrible. It was fast. It was still terrible. That said it was you know painless, of course. And it was very quick. But that's part of the reason I have not been putting out a podcast or episodes. And I don't even know how to transition into this. Next thing I mean, it's I don't want to end on jack. We, I mean I signed up to do this holiday rowing challenge through concept two rowing. And you get to pick a charity, they have a couple of charities you can choose from and I chose a most beautiful thing. You'll have to look it up. I have it on my blog, Carol remarks calm, have all the information there if you want to look it up Carol remarks calm. But the rowing, they have a couple of different challenges. It starts today on the 26th then goes through to December 24. The first level is to row 100,000 meters in that time, the second level is zero to 100,000 meters in that time. And of course, you pick a charity and concept two will donate a certain percentage to that. In a they have a couple of different charities to choose from. So I just wrote 10,000 meters this morning, and they have a calendar of how to pace yourself through this on the different levels. Like if you choose to do the hundred thousand, it'll give you a like a workout each day to to get there. Same thing with level two, and I am shooting for the level to the 200,000 meters. very terrifying. very terrifying. But that's what I'm doing. It helps me to

Carol Marks:

I guess stay focused, keep my mind on certain things and gives me something to do. The other reason is somebody at our work on second shift tested positive for COVID. And every time somebody tests positive for COVID we all have to stop working go get a test. Well, the test that they signed us up for was not the rapid result test and ours is three to five days. So I got tested. Actually we got texted on Saturday. So Sunday, I went out and tried to find the rapid test on my own. I went to three different places and one was 30 minutes away. None of them had the rapid testing. And you can't call to find out because they'll have the recording. And it was a Sunday. So you had to drive there in person. One place, I waited for an hour and a half before they ran out. So work decided they found some places for us. And I went Monday, and it was Monday night, actually. And it was the three to five day waiting results. And it's Thursday now and I still not have my results. So I've been off of work all week. Which, you know, I guess is good considering what happened on Monday gave Carrie and I a couple of days to grieve. It's the weirdest thing because the other day I went out to go row in the garage. And normally in the morning when I go outside to work out, I'll talk to jack out loud, he'll be laying on the couch, like okay, but I'm going outside. And I did that the other day. I did that, like Tuesday or Wednesday. I did that I said out loud. Okay, buddy. I'm going outside and looked over on the couch and it wasn't there. Oh, so sad. So sad. All right, I really don't want to leave you on a sad note like that though. I hope you guys are enjoying your Thanksgiving, I hope you're able to get together. A car is about to come by me. So you might hear a little noise. Hang on. Standby. My daughter and her husband are coming over this afternoon for Thanksgiving. And now the bumpus his dogs are going to start barking. My son and his girlfriend went out to Vegas to be with her family for the Thanksgiving. So it's just gonna be four of us in our little house. We ordered our thanksgiving turkey and dressing and gravy and pies from Gibson's barbecue. But we're doing all the sides ourselves. So anyway, you guys have a happy Thanksgiving. And I'll try to be more regular with the podcast and episodes and stuff. I'll get back to it. I'll get back to it. And keep you updated on the rolling challenge to In the meantime, you can find me at Carol remarques.com. All right. many blessings. Happy Thanksgiving.
