Who will lead the young conservatives now that Charlie Kirk is gone?

Carol Marks

TALK TO ME, TEXT IT

The brutal assassination of Charlie Kirk has left the conservative movement reeling, searching for answers in a time of increasing political violence. What could drive someone to murder a man whose approach to debate was marked by gentleness, logic, and respect? This question hangs heavy throughout this raw, emotional reflection on Kirk's life and the troubling circumstances surrounding his death.

We examine the FBI investigation, including the surveillance footage showing the suspect's rooftop escape, while questioning why certain details are being released through tabloid outlets before official channels. The commodification of tragedy through leaked Ring camera footage sold to media outlets represents a disturbing trend in how we process violent events.

The conversation expands to address the broader issue of radicalization affecting America's youth. From inflammatory rhetoric by elected officials who casually throw around terms like "Nazi" and "white supremacist" to social media algorithms that create echo chambers, multiple factors contribute to a climate where political violence becomes justified in vulnerable minds. Particularly troubling are Ilhan Omar's callous remarks dismissing Kirk's commitment to civil debate, and organizations that designate conservative groups as "hate groups" without proper justification.

As the conservative movement looks ahead, a crucial question emerges: Who will step into the leadership void at Turning Point USA? More importantly, who will become the new voice speaking to young conservatives across college campuses? While acknowledging that no one can truly replace Charlie Kirk's unique approach, this moment demands reflection on what kind of leadership can honor his legacy while guiding the movement forward. What qualities should this new leader possess, and how can they maintain Kirk's commitment to respectful dialogue in an increasingly hostile political landscape?

Speaker 1:

Well, hello, good morning. I'm feeling a little bit better. I say better, I feel a little bit more back to normal. Yesterday, I don't know what was well, I do know I just was.

Speaker 1:

It's still such a shocking thing to realize that someone killed Charlie Kirk. For what? Because they disagreed with him. Because he was a God-fearing, god-loving Christian man who was on the right side of things, meaning conservative values, christian values, and he would debate people and I've watched his clips. He's not bombastic at all, he's not a firebrand, as some of them would say. He was very gentle, calm, logical, would listen and complimented people, even if they disagreed with him. I'm like him. I'm like why would somebody want to kill him? I have no idea, no idea, I don't, I don't get it and my brain will never get it.

Speaker 1:

And here's another thing I was listening to yesterday and I'm just surprised and stunned at Megyn Kelly. You know, more and more I listen to her, the more and more she's starting to go down the weird, the weird hole, or whatever you call it, the weird path, because she quoted Stephen Crowder. And look, I know you guys like Stephen Crowder and maybe he's credible. I don't know, I don't think so, but I don't know, I don't know, I don't listen to him enough, but they're trying to already push this narrative that they found cartridges with messages on it about transgenic. Look, we don't know that for sure yet. So stop, stop trying to speculate about all of this stuff. Now, what the fbi did put out in a press conference I know you guys probably don't believe any of the stuff that people put out in a press conference never believe the first story. They're always going to lie to you. All this conspiracy theory. That's radicalization too. Think for yourselves, think logically. Don't listen to all this other crap. And whether you believe it or not, I don't know, but they have. There's another thing about that video they put out yesterday. That camera followed him. Who was operating that camera? Why was the camera following him? I don't know, maybe I don't know how cameras work did. When they pick movement up, do they automatically program to follow it? I don't know, it was weird, but the camera did follow the kid, this person of interest that was running across the roof and then climbed down the side of the building and jumped off and started walking across the lawn or across the parking lot. The camera followed him. There were other movements. There was cars moving, there were other people walking around. I don't know. I don't know. But another thing I know. I have another thing I wish I know. I can't get my thoughts gathered up.

Speaker 1:

They waited for this press conference until late at night. And why? Because they wanted to wait until Kash Patel got there to walk the crime scene and everything. And then what happened? They came out and Kash Patel didn't even say a damn word.

Speaker 1:

I wanted to hear from Kash Patel. I don't care if he's the FBI director, and normally they don't talk. I wanted to hear from cash fatale I don't care if he's the fbi director, and normally they don't talk. I wanted to hear from him. He's supposed to be transparent, transparency, transparency. And for the people I needed to hear from him whether they found anything of relevance or not, because all the news programs leading up to the press conference said all these things already.

Speaker 1:

So the press conference didn't really give us anything new, except that video of him running across the building and climbing down off the side Very obvious and evident. And they're going to find this guy. They have to. And then they found him through these ring cameras in this neighborhood. Now he has to know. In this neighborhood. Somebody knows this kid, somebody knows him and they'll find him. They've got to find him, they're going to find him.

Speaker 1:

The thing is, will we ever find out why? I mean, think about this. They killed Martin Luther King Jr Because he had influence, he was head of a movement, and we can't have that People rising up and changing minds and hearts and doing so same thing with Charlie Kirk, with the young people. He was making a big movement and big change and they just can't have it Now. And then you're going to hear this.

Speaker 1:

I know I heard of the Colorado shooting. Wait, before I go on to the Colorado shooting, I wanted to talk about those ring cameras in the neighborhood. Now, I could be wrong, but when they were playing these videos and it had TMZ watermark on it, my first thought was why did these people sell their? My first thought was why did these people sell their video camera ring footage to TMZ before they turned it over to the police? Now, maybe they did turn it over to the police first and then the police released it back to them and then they sold it to TMZ. I don't know why they do that, but I just think that's wrong. All right, so the next thing is the Colorado shooting. It happened yesterday or the day before too, and they have this young kid in. Well, he killed himself or they shot him dead. I don't know which is which, but they're saying now on the news that he was radicalized.

Speaker 1:

Pay attention, people. People are being kids and youth are being radicalized. Who are they being radicalized by? It could be any number of things. It could be the Chinese, it could be TikTok, it could be all of the leftists who anti-American congresspeople and their ilk, ilhan Omar, talita Rashid all the people that have influence and get in front of a camera and talk about Nazi, nazi, nazi. White supremacist, white Christian nationalist. I mean, they're at fault here. They really are.

Speaker 1:

Okay, I know I've rambled on long enough. What else do I have? Hold on, if you go over to the New York Post, if you have that app, they have several bullet points pointed out with different headlines. The new FBI video shows Charlie Kirk assassins daring rooftop escape after killing conservative activists. Then they have subheadings like blue sky posters threatened Trump, elon Musk, ben Shapiro, immediately after Charlie Kirk's assassination. Sick images show the Secret Service employee who called Charlie Kirk racist, blamed karma for assassination, put on leave. Wow, I didn't hear that one Last person to debate Charlie Kirk's seconds before assassination reveals tragic irony in final conversation.

Speaker 1:

And then there's Elon Omar cruelly stomps on Charlie Kirk's legacy, claiming supporters are full of shit. Oh, this woman needs to be deported out of the United States today. President Trump, can you make that happen? Tom Homan, I would love you forever if you could make that happen today. Uh, so she went on a cruel rant about murdered conservative activist activist charlie kirk, scoffing at the notion that his core mission was to have a civil debate on politics. There are a lot of people who are talking about him, kirk just wanting to leave a civil. Just have a civil debate. Omar sneered to progressive outlet ZTO. Those people are full of shit and it's important for us to call them out. While we feel anger and sadness, omar growls that the Turning Point USA founder downplayed George Floyd and opposed Juneteenth. There is nothing more effed up than to pretend that his words and actions haven't been recorded and in existence for the last decade or so. She added further accusing Kirk of posting hateful rhetoric on social media. You know what? Another thing this Southern Poverty Law Center here in Alabama designated Turning Point USA as a hate group.

Speaker 1:

I'm going to make it my mission to shut that motherfucking place down. I don't get it. Okay, I'd probably need to tame my language and be more calm, like Charlie Kirk, so I don't sound like an insane person. So that's what I'm going to try to do. From now on, I will make it my mission to call them out and track their movements and get them. I mean, I'm just a little person. What can I do? Nothing, but I'm going to do some. I'm going to try to research or something to get them shut down.

Speaker 1:

I don't know if they're a private organization. I don't know if they're a non-profit. I'm going to look into it. They need to go. They need to be shut down, just like Planned Parenthood needs to be shut down. And I know I know you're going to come people are freedom of speech. Freedom of speech. Well, you know what. Freedom of speech also has consequences. That's a lot of problem. Today, too, people don't have consequences anymore. These kids today don't have consequences anymore. They've never had consequences.

Speaker 1:

We get them on these drugs at an early age because this or that their, their behavior is weird. Their behavior is weird. So, oh, it's this, or it's that, or it's autism, or it's on the spectrum, or it's this or it's mental health. They get them on, they get them on medication and then ignore them. No, now, I'm not a doctor, I'm not a health provider, so just ignore everything I'm saying. Take it with a grain of salt.

Speaker 1:

Okay, but maybe if parents were more involved with their children at an early age and stay involved with them at an early age, love them, teach them, hold them, hug them, instead of just shipping them off here, shipping them off there and then listening to these daycare providers or school administrators saying that, well, they have a behavior problem. Blah, blah, blah. Okay, look, I've not been a perfect parent myself. Oh, it's easy to say this all hindsight, 2020, right, but my kids have turned out great. Yes, we've gone through some speed bumps, but they are fantastic. They have jobs, they work, they have a family. So I'm happy with them. I'm happy, I love them. Okay, I didn't mean to get up on a rant there. Anyway, I think you know what I'm trying to say.

Speaker 1:

There's all kinds of factors going on right now and we need to be vigilant and we need to pay attention and not blame it on something that's convenient. We need to dig deeper dive, figure this out. They are being radicalized by all kinds of different factions here. Okay, we need a question of the day. So my question is that I know Charlie Kirk cannot be replaced at all. Nobody, no person, ever can be replaced. But somebody needs to take hold and become the face of TPA Turning Point USA. Become the face of TPA Turning Point USA. Somebody needs to step into that role. Maybe not be Charlie Kirk and maybe not go to campuses and talk, but somebody needs to be the head or go to the helm and lead that movement still.

Speaker 1:

So who do you think that should be? My first thought was Bar baron trump, and even the gent said yesterday, baron trump. And then I, because I had thought about it too. But then my second thought was nope, melania won't, won't allow that, and I don't blame her, I wouldn't allow it either. Uh, but maybe not with, maybe not do what charlie's doing, but he, he definitely can reach the young people, that's for sure.

Speaker 1:

But who do you think should take the role or the job? Or I don't even know, was Charlie like the CEO Was there? I mean, was there an actual administrative position? Somebody needs to step into that. Who do you think that should be? Like I said, not replace Charlie in what he did as a movement and be the spokesperson and go out there on college campuses and talk. I still wish that would happen, because there is not going to be another Charlie Kirk at all, there's just not. But who else could? Who's going to lead that organization is what I guess I'm asking. That organization is what I guess I'm asking, and we also do need a new, we do need a leader for the young people. Who do you think that could be in a different, in a different, in a different way? Maybe not, maybe not even through Turning Point USA, but in a. We need the young people to have a new leader. I guess is what I'm saying, a new influencer, whatever you want to call them. All right, that's it. That's all I've got.

Speaker 1:

I hope you have a great day. It's Friday. We are going to watch our movie. We are on the Indiana Jones kick and I think we're in like the Crystal Skull. Whatever is next in the line, we're watching them, in order. Okay, have a great weekend. Hopefully, the gent and I will be back on Sunday to do our brood awakening podcast on Sunday. All right, remember, stay vigilant, head on a swivel, but don't believe everything you hear and only half of what you see. All right, got to go Bye.
