From Zim To Canned Cheese: A Wild News Grab Bag
Start with a recording hiccup, then buckle up: we charge straight into the fight over who gets to shape language in the classroom. When a major teachers union showcases neopronouns and even conceptual identities, it isn’t just a semantic debate—it’s a battle over values, authority, and what schools are for. We pull apart why parents feel blindsided, how teachers navigate shifting mandates, and where the line should be between inclusion and instruction. If you’ve wondered whether public schools are prioritizing literacy or ideology, you’ll hear a perspective that doesn’t mince words.
Then the conversation turns to faith and pop culture, as Jenny McCarthy shares a deepened relationship with Jesus following a tragedy. Celebrity conversions can spark eye rolls, but they also invite honest questions about purpose, pain, and what it means to surrender. We talk about how public figures live out belief under scrutiny, how faith journeys change over time, and why stories of loss and hope still cut through the noise. It’s less about agreeing with every stance and more about recognizing the human need for meaning.
We keep the cultural lens focused with a surprising media move: Angel Studios, known for The Chosen and Sound of Freedom, steps into an animated Animal Farm with an A-list cast that includes a transgender actor. For some, that’s bold expansion. For others, it’s a brand break. We unpack the tension between ministry-minded storytelling and mainstream reach, and what faith-based media should look like if it wants to shape the broader conversation instead of preaching only to the choir.
To end on a lighter, communal note, we spotlight a brisk 15-minute Capitol holiday party—Mountain Dew, PB&J, and canned cheese—and throw the mic to you. What’s the most memorable Christmas party you’ve ever attended, and what made it unforgettable? If this mix of education, culture, and faith sparks your curiosity, subscribe, share with a friend, and leave a quick review so more listeners can find the show. Your stories and feedback shape where we go next.

Well, holy hell. I thought I was recording. It only recorded 11 seconds. I talked for at least five minutes, so now I have to start over. Good news is you don't you didn't have to hear me clearing my throat a gazillion times. Well, you may still have to. We're gonna move on. Okay, I was talking about this damn teachers union. They are out of control. They've been out of control, but now you think the you think the pronouns was over with? Nope, they're back. They're back with a whole new category of um pronouns. Earlier this month, the National Education Association held an advancing LGBTQ plus justice event. Not joking. So now they're coming up with these neo pronouns or ZEO pronouns. And the teachers union uh wants to make sure your kids know this too. Documents obtained by the Education Watchdog Group Defending Education. Full disclosure, I am on the group's board. And so the woman who's writing this is Carol Markov Markowitz, you know who she is. I am on the group's board. Um they have contained slides illustrating these neo and zio pronouns. So they're like Z, Zim, and Zirba, and other letters randomly shoved together, and then those are the Neo pronouns. Then you have the ZO pronouns are for conceptual identities, such as cat, cats, and cat self. I am not joking. This is a real thing. These teeth this is a teachers union, the teachers union are pushing this onto their teachers to teach their your children that they can use pronouns like cat, cat, and cat self, or z, zer, and zim. That sounds like a Dr. Seuss character. So it's not just that either. There's other things happening, and we'll get to that in just a second. Um, but our kids are being force fed this garbage in America public schools. I used to think, you know what, stay in the schools and fight. Now I'm like, nope, I give up, I surrender. Take your kids out, homeschool them. Don't stay and fight. The public public, it public school system, public being in air quotes, really run by the government. Take them out. Take them out. Because it's nothing but a cesspool. They don't even teach real stuff anymore. Uh so the union steeps the teachers in this leftist brain rot, and the teachers spread it to schools across the country. And it's not just gender bunk that was presented at the conference either. The NEA is not entirely sure this whole America thing is going to stick. So they refer to it as what we know as the United States of America and what we now call the United States of America in multiple slides. Apparently, ZO pronouns are rock solid, but a 249-year-old country might just be a fad. You can go finish reading that story. It's over there on my X-File. We need to move on to the next story, which I think is incredible. We are going to talk about Ginny McCarthy finding Jesus. I'm not joking. This is from the Christian Post. And uh former, and it's titled Former Playboy Playmate Ginny McCarthy completely surrendered to Jesus after Charlie Kirk's murder. She's on this podcast, and this is she's talking about it. Former Playboy Playmate Jenny McCarthy said she completely surrendered to Jesus following the murder of conservative activist Charlie Kirk, describing the tragedy as a turning point in her faith. Now she was already a Christian, but I think this shoved her even further into being a devout follower of Christ. We'll see. The 53-year-old actor and television personality, who was named Playboy's Playmate of the Year in 1994, discussed her beliefs during a December 11th appearance on the Culture Apothecary podcast, where she told host Alex Clark she now has a very deep relationship with God. Praise Lord, praise, praise, praise, praise. She said some people have to work really hard to hear him, McCarthy, who was already who was raised Catholic, said, I've got uh let's see, I've got a direct line. I mean Jesus is my homie. I can't, I don't like it when people talk like that, but whatever. Although McCarthy said she has always been a follower of Christ. She explained that Kirk's assassination in September caused her to become a so devoted to Jesus. McCarthy said she became a parental rights activist after her son was diagnosed with autism. She said that while researching the condition and reading that some children could recover, she felt the most godly energy and discovered that she described as my purpose after praying her uh for her son's healing, she said she promised God, I will teach the world how I did it, but lead me there. Though she lost work because of her anti-vaccine views, she credited God with continuing to provide for her and her son. She said the backlash she experienced contributed to conservatives and others who supported her because in Hollywood staying qu uh in Hollywood staying quiet. Supported her cause in Hollywood staying. I don't know, I don't know. Anyway, so that's wonderful news. You can go finish reading that article. It is on the ChristianPost.com site. Uh it's on my X feed if you can go, you can just go click it. Now, also from the Christianpost.com, this Angel Studios isn't Angel Studios, I think, is the one that does um The Chosen. Are they supposed to be like a Christian-based company? I'm not sure. Uh, but guess what? Transgender identified actor Laverne Cox to star in Angel Studios Animal Farm. Stop. Stop it. Uh stop. I I've just lost. I've lost, I've lost it. I can't with ease. Angel Studios best known for originally producing, uh, distributing faith-based content. So they are known for uh distributing faith-based content and producing it. Not anymore. I guess they need the money. Um The Chosen had hit okay, sorry, let me back up. Angel Studios best known for originally producing and distributing faith-based content like The Chosen and the hit 2023 film Sound of Freedom has announced a deal to distribute the animated adaptation of George Orwell's classic novel, Animal Farm, directed by Andy Circus and featuring on all-star voice cast, including Seth Rogan, Woody Harrelson, and Kieran Culkin. Angel Studios Animal Farm will also feature transgender identified actor Laverne Cox as Snowball, the antagonist to Napoleon, played by Rogan. Well, there you go. Angel Studios No More is a faith-based no more. Not in my book, not in my view. All right, we need to move on to the question of the day. Okay, I heard yesterday that Tim Burchett from Tennessee, the congressman, nailed a 15-minute Christmas party in his office, and he served Mountain Dew, peanut butter jelly sandwiches, and rich crackers with cheese with canned cheese on it. Oh my gosh. It showed like Fetterman was there, Laura Bobo was there. 15 minutes, he said, that's enough. Here's some snacks, some Mountain Dews. Now get back to work. I love it. So my question of the day is it has to do with Christmas parties. I'm sure we've all been to Christmas parties. Um let's see, how what kind of question can I pose here? Um, do you what what is the most memorable Christmas party you've been to? And was there anything, you know, going on, if you know what I mean? And I think you do. Okay, I gotta go. Thanks for listening. It'll get better.
